Tutoring services are available online. Tutoring for various academic subjects can be found by logging into your my可靠的网赌平台 page and clicking Online Tutoring under the Student tab.

Writing assistance is also available through Thinkingstorm, but you can also set up an appointment with the 可靠的网赌平台 Writing Center (to be held via Zoom) by calling 318-427-4460 or emailing Dr. Elizabeth Beard at ebeard@volamdolong.com.

I also want to let you know about Red Shelf, a website that is temporarily allowing students to access many, but not all, textbooks online for free. To see if your textbooks are included you can search by title or ISBN at http://studentresponse.redshelf.com/

Please keep the following points in mind as you try out this service:

• you must register first at http://studentresponse.redshelf.com/accounts/register/?next=/library/
• when registering you must use your 可靠的网赌平台 email account
• these titles are only available through the end of May
• you are limited to a total of seven titles
• you will not be able to download or print; only viewing is allowed

Students and members of the public are able to utilize this service without registration, supervision, or cost while remaining inside their vehicles. The network can be accessed in the parking lot (Lot 6) between the Catholic Student Organization (CSO) and the Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) on campus. 

The service is available with limited bandwidth so it is requested that those using the service be respectful of others. Additionally, users are asked to only access for business and educational purposes only (please refrain from large file downloads and video streaming).

Create A Dedicated Workspace

Decide on a regular space to study that is quiet and distraction-free such as a desk in a bedroom or at the kitchen table. Be sure to have your textbooks, notes, calculator, and any other supplies you will need nearby. Let your roommates or family members know when you're working and ask not to be disturbed.

Structure Your Time

Having an unstructured day makes it easy for time to slip away, so discipline is key. Create a schedule with specific times to watch lectures, study, read, and do homework and stick to it! Remember that you should plan for 2-3 hours of study time each week per credit to be successful.

Minimize Distractions

Put your phone on silent and out of sight and turn off the TV. Close social media platforms and other websites that may tempt you. A good pair of headphones could be helpful to block out distractions too.

Stay Mentally Engaged

Take notes during online lectures just like you would in a traditional classroom setting and ask questions throughout the lecture. Many virtual platforms have the option to virtually raise your hand to enter a question into a chat box.

Engage With Other Students...Virtually

Isolation can weigh on your mental health. Be sure to continue to connect with other students. Facetime your friends, use Google Hangouts to chat, and create virtual study groups for each of your classes.

Use Campus Resources And Ask For Help

Your campus resources have not gone away - they've just moved online! Check your email and visit campus websites to find out how to access tutoring, academic coaching, the writing center, counseling, advisors, office hours, etc.

Take A Break!

Trying to study for 10 hours straight will likely be unsuccessful. Take breaks to get your blood flowing and give your eyes time to rest. All of these changes can feel overwhelming, so remember to take care of yourself and find time to unwind and do the things you enjoy.

BRCC COVID-19 Online Resources

Yes. All summer classes will now be 100% online. There will be no face-to-face courses for any summer terms.

Class formats will be listed on your schedule in Self-Service. Students that have not made schedules, may view course listings and formats under the "Find Courses" link in Self-Service; or click here. Formats are listed under the "Schedule"' column.

Remote learning classes are designed to be taught face-to-face. Students are expected to login and participate via video conference during the designated class time.

100% online classes are self-paced. Students may login at their convenience to complete coursework.

The cafeteria will be open for a full-service, dine-in experience – with physical distancing in place.  Additionally, the university will be covering 2.5% of the meal plan charge leaving the student to owe $1585.  Not the full 1625.  

If you happen to have a remote class between two on-campus classes, there will be space available in the ballroom and the library to participate in your classes.
